Glaze & Grind Brings a Fresh Gathering Spot to Shelton’s River Road

Rooted in community, Glaze & Grind brings neighbors together over great coffee, fresh donuts, and local flavor. Owned by Shelton locals Tom and Riley Sanders, the River Road café is more than a breakfast spot — it’s a warm, welcoming space built for connection.

Shelton, CT — There’s a new spot in town where coffee meets community. Glaze & Grind, the latest addition to River Road, has quickly become a local favorite for morning meetups, weekend hangs, and friendly faces.

Owners Tom and Riley Sanders, both Shelton residents, wanted to create more than just a café — they wanted to build a space that feels like home. “We grew up here, and we’ve seen how this town comes together,” says Riley. “Glaze & Grind is our way of giving something back — a place where neighbors can connect, unwind, and share a donut or two.”

From early risers grabbing bagels before work to families stopping by after Saturday soccer games, the café buzzes with community energy. Its shelves feature locally made jams and ceramics from Connecticut artisans, while the staff proudly source ingredients from nearby farms and roasters.

“We’re not just serving food,” Tom adds. “We’re celebrating what makes Shelton special — the people.”

Glaze & Grind is open daily from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM at 214 River Road, Shelton, CT. Follow @glazeandgrind on Instagram for local collaborations and community events.
